Duncan Chisholm effortlessly evokes a background steeped in the rich highland music tradition through his rich, varied compositions.
Having been described as ‘one of the most authentic interpreters of traditional highland music,’ his fiddle playing takes you on an emotional journey through the beautiful landscape which inspires him.
His latest album, Sandwood, explores the specific area of Sandwood Bay and chronicled his own personal journey through the Highlands to this place of beauty, which became his muse.
Sandwood contributed to Duncan winning Composer of the Year 2018 at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards, the album itself was awarded Album of the Year 2018.
Chisholm has had an illustrious career spanning decades. As a founding member of the highly successful folk-rock band Wolfstone, to writing music for the Oscar winning film Good Will Hunting, Duncan has continued to release albums to critical acclaim.
He has been commissioned by the BBC to create soundtracks for the BBC 2 documentary Castle Commando as well as BBC Scotland’s Landward, alongside numerous plaudits from the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

Maupin has been blazing a trail through US popular culture since the 1970s, when his iconic and ground-breaking series Tales of the City was first published as a column in the San Francisco Chronicle.
The novel series has been taking the literary world by storm ever since and is currently being adapted by Netflix into a much-anticipated new series, starring Laura Linney, Olympia Dukakis and Ellen Page.
Don’t miss the chance to join America’s ultimate storyteller, as he recounts his favourites tales from the past four decades, offering his own engaging observations on society and the world we inhabit.

Those good ol’ boys in ‘Elvis fronted Nirvana’ are delighted to announce that they will be performing their first ever fully ‘Unplugged’ show at the beautiful Sage Gateshead this 29 November.
Emulating the iconic Nirvana Unplugged concert, Elvana will be performing many of the tracks including Jesus Don’t Want Me for a Sunbeam, Lake of Fire and Where did you sleep last night?, all shook up with a splash of Elvis Presley and tongues shoved firmly into cheeks.
This is an evening with Elvana as you’ve never seen them before.
